I have been doing some graphic design-related stuff the past few days. I must admit I kinda missed doing it after a year of grueling schoolwork for my photojournalism course.

I have never learned how to draw (although my mom enrolled me to several art classes when I was a teeny weeny kid, to no avail) and I don’t think I’d be blessed with that talent or acquire that skill in the near future. Thus, for people like me, softwares such as Adobe Photoshop and Indesign are truly heaven-sent.

While clicking on brushes and custom shapes and choosing fonts in Adobe Photoshop, I was reminded of my coloring books when I was a kid (I loved painting all sorts of colors on them, and at times, the paper extended to our walls. And I missed them. And how I wished I kept some of them. But that’s another story). Thus, I sort of consider graphic design softwares as the digital and new coloring books of adults like me.

And while browsing through the web for inspiration, I came across the article “How to Boost Your Creativity”. That explains the flower on my desk. But I can never really say if it increased my creativity or not.
